Research Interests: cognitive and neural correlates of bilingualism; language learning across the lifespan; early language experiences; literacy; individual differences
I am a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Psychology at UC Riverside. I completed my graduate work at UCLA, where I received my M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology, with a focus in Developmental Psychology and Culture, Brain, & Development.
My program of research focuses on the cognitive and neural correlates of early language experiences. During my graduate career, I broadly examined how bilingual language experiences affect various aspects of infants’ and children’s cognitive and language development. Currently, my research examines the cognitive and neural correlates of early language and literacy experiences. I am interested in understanding how variability in early language and literacy experiences affect bilinguals’ language learning abilities in young adulthood and how these language and literacy experiences may be associated with individual differences in the brain and in cognitive skills.
