I am a first-generation Ph.D. student in the School of Education at UC Irvine. I hold dual bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Spanish Language & Hispanic Culture, with a minor in Statistics, from CSU Monterey Bay. As a McNair Scholar, I have conducted extensive undergraduate research on bilingualism, focusing on the cognitive implications of learning additional languages. I am also a CSU Sally Casanova Pre-Doctoral Scholar and aim to integrate my multidisciplinary background to support bilinguals’ academic and personal success. My current focus is to investigate the long term cognitive effects of attending Dual Language Immersion (DLI) programs.
Looking for: I am looking for bilinguals who are also interested in exploring the long-term effects of DLI programs. Overall I am excited to work with any undergraduate students who are interested in topics related to bilingualism.
